The Garden Route, The Sunshine Coast, Greater Addo, The Klein Karoo
The Garden Route is a popular and scenic stretch of the south-eastern coast of South Africa. It stretches from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to the Storms River which is crossed along the N2 coastal highway over the Paul Sauer Bridge in the extreme western reach of the neighbouring Eastern Cape.
The beauty of our wonder lies within its small towns, stunning beaches and river banks, and the warm-hearted people which reside in them. The Sunshine Coast is known for its unspoiled coastal scenery with many small coastal villages dotted along the coastline. Most of all, it is the feeling of escaping the crowds and getting away from it all that attracts visitors to this part of the Eastern Cape.
Greater Addo is largely dominated by the Addo Elephant Park. The area includes Colchester at the coast, Kirkwood, Paterson and Port Elizabeth. It incorporates the beautiful Sundays River Valley.
The Little or Klein Karoo, which is a long valley bordered by the Swartberg and the Langeberg Mountains in the Western Cape, forms the southern sibling of the larger Karoo – the Great or Groot Karoo occupies the northern part thereof.
