Daniell Cheetah Project
Play a part in the conservation of the Cheetah
Daniell Cheetah Project is situated on the R75 National Road, 40km from Uitenhage, 70km from Port Elizabeth and 60km from the Addo Elephant National Park.
It is one of the well known Cheetah Sanctuaries, and was established in 2001. The aim of the project is to play a part in the conservation of the cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), the re-establishing of pure gene lines, as well as educating the public to the importance of this amazing species.
Guests are able to take tours with a trained tour guide, and the centre is open from 9am until 4pm daily for tours.
During the educational Predator Tour, which has an approximate duration of 1 hour, you will be able to see cheetahs as well as learn about meerkats, hyenas, lions, servals, caracals and leopard. The project also offers a cheetah walk experience on the farm.
There is also a well stocked “Padstal” Farmstall on-site with a wonderful selection of souvenirs and a coffee shop to provide light lunches and refreshments.
Daniell Cheetah Project is an easy, scenic drive from Port Elizabeth for a visit, or alternatively, very easy to visit if you are staying in the Addo area for a few days.
