A hidden gem in South Africa for whale watching
Port Elizabeth is a hidden gem in South Africa for whale watching, and other wildlife viewing. With seasonal visits from Southern right whales, humpback whales, and indo-pacific humpback dolphins. Port Elizabeth has the largest breeding colony of African penguins in the world right on our doorstep. As well as our other resident species including bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins, bryde’s whales, Cape gannets and more. All year-round charters offers guests some great wildlife viewing experiences in this secret undisturbed bay.
The crew and owner of Raggy Charters are very informative to the behavior of the endangered African Penguins and dolphins. The boat visits the penguin island and guests are able to get pretty close up to them. Large school of dolphins are common sightings as are whales.
A visit to the yacht club which is just on top of the Raggy Charters pier is recommended to sample the fresh local calamari.
