Leading on eastwards from the Garden Route, the Sunshine Coast and the Wild Coast offer hundreds of kilometers of pristine beaches, unspoilt wilderness and mountain ranges.
The province boasts thousands of hectares of pristine protected wilderness areas, of which the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area is one of note. The Addo Elephant National Park, which is now in the region of 164 000 hectare and stretches to the north as far as Zuurberg Mountains and East to the Sundays River Estuary, offers the biodiversity of five biomes and fantastic birding.
